Vintage 9ct Unoaerre solid rosy herringbone necklace - EXCEPTIONAL - liquid gold!

There is something so beautifully sleek about a vintage herringbone chain, and this Unoaerre necklace is an exceptional example. Flat and wonderfully slinky, it sits smoothly against the neckline in a continuous ribbon of gold, with that unmistakable fluidity that makes herringbone so desirable.

The gold has gorgeous rosy tones rather than a traditional bright yellow, giving it warmth while still pairing beautifully with yellow gold. Worn alone it is polished and understated; layered amongst your favourite chains, the flatter profile adds a completely different texture to a golden stack.

Most impressive is its incredible vintage condition. Herringbone links require careful wear and storage to preserve their smooth structure, making older examples in this condition increasingly difficult to find.

Finished with a substantial lobster clasp, it carries the markings vintage Italian jewellery collectors love to discover: Unoaerre and *1 AR — the historic Arezzo registration number belonging to one of Italy’s most celebrated goldsmiths. A beautiful piece of Italian goldmaking, preserved remarkably well.

NOTE: Herringbones require care. The close links make them prone to bending if not looked after thoughtfully. Do not wear to bed, and go with the rule 'last on - first off' (as with pearl strands) - lie flat to store to preserve their beautiful ribbon like appearance.
