Rosy 'old gold' Unoaerre snake necklace with knots - just breathtaking! For collectors!

There are some pieces you pick up and immediately know are special. This is one of them.

The first thing you notice is how beautifully fluid it feels in your hands. The fine snake chain is wonderfully drapey and silky, moving almost like a ribbon of gold, while five sculptural knot stations punctuate its length. It’s delicate in proportion, yet the knots give it a presence that feels far more substantial than you expect.

And then there’s that colour. The warm, rosy “old gold” tone is exactly what I hope to find in a vintage piece — soft, rich and impossible to replicate in something new.

At 46.3cm, it’s also an incredible length for neck stacking. It sits beautifully beneath a shorter chain with plenty of room to add a longer pendant below, while those five knots make it interesting enough to wear completely on its own.

Made by Unoaerre, the historic Italian goldsmith founded in Arezzo in 1926, its name comes from the maker’s original registration: 1 AR — number one in Arezzo. The house is loved for beautifully made Italian gold with distinctive design, and this necklace is such a perfect example. And then I saw it! A full set of UK hallmarks and the anchor from the Birmingham assay office - brought from Italy into the UK at a time when pieces moved from Italy to Britain and received another set of unique hallmarks to guarantee it's quality. You do not see this in modern pieces and it is one of the reasons this piece is so special!!

Fine, fluid, rosy and wonderfully unusual. The sort of vintage gold that makes you gasp a little each time you hold her.

Details: Weighs 5.3g  46.5cm long. Stamped 375 Unoaerre (Italy) *1 AR - excellent vintage condition - no bends. There is a tiny black dot on it that I have NOT tried to get off as I love little marks but you could PROBABLY have a jeweller take it off if it bothered you. I have photographed it for you to see. It is so tiny.
