Before wristwatches became the everyday norm, beautifully crafted fobs like this were proudly worn on gentleman's watch chains as symbols of style and achievement. Today, they have become some of the most distinctive vintage pendants to collect, and finding one with a completely blank cartouche is exceptionally rare. Most were engraved with initials or presentations over their lifetime, but this one has remained untouched, making it a true collector's piece.
Crafted in warm, rosy 9ct gold, this Art Deco-inspired pendant is full of beautiful detail. The finely engine-turned border catches the light effortlessly, while the stepped geometric accents give it that unmistakable Deco elegance that never goes out of fashion.
The reverse carries its original British hallmarks, including the JT&S maker's mark, 9 & 375 fineness marks, the Birmingham anchor assay mark, and the date letter A. Even the generous bale has been independently hallmarked 375 9, a lovely indication of quality and craftsmanship and evidence of it's previous life on a fob chain.
A rare survivor with history, originality and timeless style, this is exactly the kind of piece that makes hearts beat a little faster. Once worn proudly on a fob chain, it is now ready for its next chapter—layered on your favourite chain and worn often, because the best gold jewellery was never meant to stay tucked away.
Details: Weighs 2.9g 2.8cm W - 3cm H (no bale) 3.5cm with bale - Stamped JT&S (maker's mark) 9 375 (9ct) side anchor symbol (Birmingham assay mark) A (date year)
